Welcome to Downtown Wichita, a center of progress, entrepreneurial hub, historic western gateway and regional center of commerce
Wichita Downtown Development Corporation (WDDC) works in partnership with organizations across the region to revitalize and enhance the center city. In December 2010, Wichita adopted a new Master Plan for Downtown called Project Downtown. Since its adoption, Downtown has seen a surge of investment with $60 million in projects completed in 2011, $127 million currently under construction and nearly $45 million in planned projects. Project Downtown has also led to the adoption of key policy such as the City of Wichita’s Public Investment Policy and the creation of a Downtown Loan Consortium to assist with development financing.
